Porcelain veneers are thin, custom ceramic shells bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. They can restore chipped, cracked or stained teeth, close small gaps and make slightly uneven teeth look more aligned, while looking and feeling natural. At Brightly Dental Midtown, 425 Madison Ave near Grand Central, veneers are part of our cosmetic dentistry and smile makeover care.

What veneers can fix
- Stains and discoloration that whitening cannot remove
- Chips and cracks, as long as the crack has not damaged the inner part of the tooth
- Small gaps between teeth
- Uneven or slightly crowded teeth, which veneers can make look more aligned without braces
- Teeth with an uneven shape or size
How the process works
- Consultation. Your dentist examines your teeth and gums, talks through what you would like to change and checks whether veneers, or another option, suit you. Healthy teeth and gums come first.
- Design. Each veneer is custom made for your teeth, shaped and shaded to fit your smile.
- Preparation. The front surface of each tooth is prepared so the veneer sits naturally.
- Bonding. The finished veneers are bonded to your teeth and your bite is checked.
Veneers can be used for just one tooth or several, and many patients complete treatment in a couple of appointments.
Veneers and whitening
Crowns, bridges and veneers cannot be whitened. If you want whiter teeth overall, we usually recommend teeth whitening before your veneers are made, so they can be matched to your new shade.
Other options we may discuss
- Dental bonding for small chips
- Teeth whitening for stains on natural teeth
- All-ceramic crowns for teeth with more extensive damage (crowns and bridges)
- Invisalign clear aligners, provided by our Invisalign-certified dentists, to straighten teeth

Paying for veneers
Dental insurance often treats veneers as elective cosmetic care, so coverage is limited. We can check your benefits for you, and financing is available with CareCredit and Cherry, subject to credit approval. Your dentist will go over your treatment plan with you at your consultation.
